sound absorbing wallpaper?

Has anyone ever used sound absorbing wallpaper with any success? We have a wall mounted TV in our large great room with lots of tile. We have alot of upholstered furnishing and we have plush rugs. But the sound bounces off the wall behind the TV. Any ideas?

Amazon sells acoustic panels and sound absorption sheets. Another possibility would be cork wall tiles. You would want thick ones with a textured surface to have the most sound attenuation. Another possibility would be to run your audio through a surround sound system, and not use the built-in speakers on the back of your TV at all.

Upholster the wall and use a thick batting under your finish fabric.
