Sago palm made it

Alright guys I was able to pull something off. Many told me it couldn’t be done but I successfully got a sago palm, in the ground, through the winter here in central Oklahoma. Minimal damage, all I did was cover it up on nights that dipped below 25° with those free airline blankets. Let’s see if it’ll survive through another winter.

Congrats, and most plants gain in hardiness as they get big.

I have several large ones containerized that I overwinter in a big, sunny garage. They weigh a ton though and I had wheels to move them. Just got mine out for the season..., this March was cold in the East.

looks great!! Planting by the house would be the reason it survived.

I'm pretty sure that in Oklahoma you got the kind of weather we had in Arkansas, late winter/early spring with single digit temps three times? If so, then that bodes well for your cycad.
