I would reframe the art with a simple gold metal frame and a mat and be more inclined to coordinate a runner or pillows with the wall color than with the art.

Not bigger, tartan, just simpler and with a mat to lighten it up.

If it’s an original painting & if you’re inclined to reframe it ( I don’t think it’s necessary ) I would use a floating frame, no mat.

Love your night tables and lamps. You can never go wrong with a simple white down comforter. I think the frame is fine on a vintage painting that has meaning to you. choose colors from it but also keep it simple with bedding. Blues browns
