Lacking a clearer photo, I'd guess a thalictrum....maybe T. delavayi?

Your guess seems pretty close! Here's a closeup I found while digging further!

It seems to lack the... err, excuse my lack of knowledge regarding plant terminology -- yellow thingies in the middle that Thalictrum delavayi has.

Or, at least, it has them, but they're not quite as big! Are we thinking Thalictrum rochebruneanum (closest I've seen on Google in the Thalictrum search?)

Edit: Scratch that -- I've found pics of T. delavayi that look identical to this. The more I search the more confused I am. Either way, happy to have found an entire genus of very cool flowers I'd never heard of or seen before!! Thanks for the help, gardengal!

The "yellow thingies" are stamens and they do elongate once the flower is fully open. I am guessing it is not yet in full, open bloom so they haven't fully extended. You can see the same thing with rocheburneanum before it is fully open as well.

But I wouldn't like to be held to a single species without seeing better photos of the entire plant :-)

Don’t some Thalictrum have male and female flowers on separate plants, leading to different appearances? I don’t know if this applies to all or even if my memory is off.
