Mismatched night stands always look weird.

I don't think the black, brown, and white play well together. can you relocate the bookshelf and move the dresser there? Maybe just simple wall mount shelves and lights on the wall? I'd also think about simpler bedding.

Wow....there sure are a lot of colors going on in that room, and I’m not sure they are really coexisting in peace and tranquility with each other. Brown bed/blanket, tan/green walls, black/white chest, black nightstand. I would opt for two matching whites, and painting your walls a lighter color...and either green OR beige, but not both. If you love the colors in your bedspread, then pick the lightest shade in it and do the walls either that color or one shade darker.

I like Brittney's idea of a gold table. Would echo the mirror. How is the space working out for you? Do you find your bed a tad cramped on that wall? Do you need two nightstands? How much space do you have for them? If we can get a quick room drawing with measurements, we might be able to propose a more spacious layout. I'm intrigued by the idea of switching the bookshelf and dresser but also wonder if the bed could work on the bookshelf wall.

Thanks for all the feedback, I will post a drawing tonight with the dimensions. I have thought about swapping the bookshelf and the dresser (would have to get rid of the rug then).

I know there has been suggestions on painting but it was just done about 6 months ago and I unfortunately cannot change the carpet!

You might still be able to use the rug if you move the furniture...

It's your room so it's about making it work for YOU. We're just seeing pics of it, not experiencing the space and colours in your light. On my monitor, your wall colours look fine but if you were to move the bed, it would make more sense to have the headboard wall the accent colour. In any case, we're simply sharing ideas that you may or may not want to implement now (or later).

Thanks tartanmeup! I do have some of the grey paint left over, so I suppose I could paint the accent wall and have all them the same if a different layout would work better!

Totally ok to have mismatched night tables. I think another dark one would look best but you could go white because of your dresser having the 2 colors. Whatever you choose should be about the same Height. Could you post a picture of the corner missing in these photos? What is on the opposite side of the dresser and bookcase? Is the door in the picture the main entrance or a closet? I never like an entry door opening into the bed but the door shown looks like it might be a closet. Not sure this is the best set up for the room. Bed and night stands only thing on one wall. Without knowing what is on the unseen corner (the entry door?) my first thought is to move the bed to the dresser wall so you face the door and window. But not if the entry is there. As is I would move the dresser to where the bookcase is to give you more room around the bed. Either move the bookcase over on that wall sharing with the dresser or move it out of the room. I like the colors in the room. These night tables are totally different but you don't notice at first because of similar size, color and tabletop decoration

you could also move the bookcase next to the bed clearing the shelf closest to bed height to use do double duty as a night table Since it is open shelving If you are okay with the different heights. it might be nice having books close. it would be best if you do this to have the real night table on the side you sleep and enter on, the side most visible from the entry door. still move the dresser to the wall the bookcase is currently on.

Helpful layout! Seems where you have your bed now makes the most sense. I like Cheryl's idea of using the bookcase as a second night table. In any case, it looks as if you'd gain some space around the bed by switching the bookcase and dresser. (Perhaps you've tried that and didn't like it? Maybe the dresser blocks the view of the window from the door?) I'd want the fluffy rug next to the bed to step onto when walking up. Does that appeal to you and is there room?

Thanks for the new picture and floor plan. Looks like the bed is in the best spot. Also relooked at the bookcase and see the sides aren't open so it really wouldn't function as a night table the way I thought but you could still move it if you don't need a second table. I do think it would feel larger if you moved the dresser to the bookcase wall. I also think it would be nice to have the plush rug beside the bed to step on.

Butt the dresser and bookcase together center and directly opposite the bed. Lose the plant stand.

Buy a white coverlet set with two white euro sized shams. Put that on the bed, then FOLD your floral at the foot of the bed, and put the floral shams in front of the white. It will brighten and look more youthful.

Get another side table of similar height to the black, and two matching lamps for the bedsides. Lose the fluffy rug. It looks like a bath rug.: )
