I was so fed up with our metal bed frame and bedskirt set up that I convinced my better half to remove the metal frame while we hunt for a new bed. Well, it's been a couple of weeks now of sleeping like my teenage self with the mattress and box spring directly on the floor and every morning, I notice my mattress is hot. Don't recall that happening before. Is it my imagination or was the raised metal frame allowing air circulation that kept the mattress cool? (Of course, I'm the only one who noticed a difference.) We were considering a platform bed but now I'm thinking one with a solid board might give me the same hot mattress. Would one with slats be cooler? Thoughts and experience appreciated.
