Looks like coconut orchid to me (Maxillaria tenuifolia), but may not be. First hunch, but I've never grown it.

Agree, Maxillaria tenuifolia. Not native to Hawaii. A species orchid from Mexico or Central America.

If it smells like coconut, it's maxillaria tenuifolia! Mine is blooming now too :)

Indeed, there are only 3 species native to the Hawaiian Islands -- and none of them are going to elicit oohs and aahs for their looks: Anoectochilus sandvicensis, Liparis hawaiensis and Platanthera holochila.
