Total Kitchen remodel

last modified: 7 years ago

So this house is a one level standard brick ranch that has been completely gutted and reconfigured. Disclaimer: I wasn’t included in the reconfiguring and I wouldn’t have laid it out this way, but it’s done and we’re not changing anymore walls. What I am asking for is advice on where everything should go.

Things that need homes:

Refridgerator

Standard oven/stove top combo

microwave

dishwasher

Sink

Things I want:

Island - probably 24 inches deep by 6 or 7 ft

Walk-in pantry

A functional space that doesn’t crowd the cooking and prep areas

Dishwasher can not be in a corner - pet peave! Lol (I have that now)

Stove will not be on the short wall

sink can possibly go in the island

Total length of kitchen is 17 ft

Total width is 14 ft

Doorway is in the middle so there needs to be sufficient walking space between the island and the odd wall across the kitchen- this is also the main walking path through the house. Aside from the 8ft wall, this is an open concept. Dining room is to the right of the kitchen.

I have a couple of layouts that I like but what I posted is blank just to see if you guys can be more creative and help a girl out- this is stressful!

Thanks so much in advance. This is a total DIY project.
