Leave the posts stained. The color really is a matter of personal preference. I would paint the door a shade or two darker than the wall color. You might find this article about how to choose colors helpful.

Why do you think it needs changed? Is there a part that bothers you?

Yes, it's a completely different look then I originally wanted. The posts were to be white. Now the room's getting dark(harsh to me) and the door's not painted yet(factory colour). Some people tell me I need to paint the big wall because they don't think it looks right. I'm generally indecisive now
