Meyer lemon trees... When are you bringing them outside?

I was thinking of taking my trees out on the deck for the season, but I'm wondering if nights are still too cold. What do you all think?

Most of my Citrus went out last weekend (NJ/Zone 7a). They get some microclimate protection..., partly under a overhang, south facing garage, FULL sun/all day, protection by a second garage on another side, black top, etc.. It matters.

It's a balance for me, I'd rather take chances with a couple of chilly nights than not being able to keep up with watering in the garage (where it gets really toasty now on average sunny days now). Make sure yours get some initial protection from the sun and wind for a couple of weeks though. We had 50 mph winds with desert humidity (15%) and a couple of mine looked like they hadn't been watered in ages from a one day event (since resorted to normal).

To be clear, they are now much too heavy to bring in and out at night, so it's going to be one and done until fall unless major weather hazard.

I honestly dont know. The temps have been going up and down so much this year in Maryland. It got cold recently, but I'm not sure it actually froze.

I don't have a lemon, but all my citrus are out. Most went Sunday, but I kept a few in until yesterday (blood, cara cara, red finger lime which is a cute baby I picked up from Stan McKenzie a week ago). They were all out last week, until shuffling back in for the weekend freeze. I'm comfortable with temps down to the mid 30s.

Don't forget to transition them in shade, then partial sun, over a few days to prevent sunburn.

Yeah, they go against the siding in the shady corner of the deck fur a couple weeks.

Atheen, mine went out yesterday. They'll be fine with lows in 40s.

Thank you both! I'll have the husband bring em out this week, then. And I'll blissfully get my dining room back, lol.

Do you think the temperature change will have the immature lemons and lemon buds turn yellow? Both trees are covered with them.

Atheen, I think the lemons will be fine. Many of my trees have small fruit and I don’t remember having any issues previous years.
