about a week ago i had a bunch of new flower and leaf buds. and today, most are gone. not dead as much as just gone. i found one bunch of flowers on the ground still attached to eachother.

any ideas? my first guess is a bug, i had a similar problem one year with a persimmon weevil eating the new persimmon buds as they emerged... but that was a young persimmon, this is a 12' tall asian pear with a couple hundred buds
