I have a lot of clover near my gardens that harbor bean aphids. I normally grow Provider in the spring because it seems to have a high resistance to bean mosaic virus. I grow other varieties with little or no resistance in the fall when the aphid population is much lower and I don't have a problem with BMV.

This year I'd like to grow Dragon's Tongue in the spring so I can save seed. I've never grown it before. I don't see any seed vendor listing any resistance to BMV for DT. Usually Johnny's is good about listing variety resistance to disease but nada on Dragon's Tongue.

For those that have grown DT and also have to battle BMV issues, do you find that DT is still able to produce OK or should I just give up on trying to grow DT in the spring and stick with Provider? I might still be able to save DT seed if I can sow it in mid July and we don't get an early freeze.

I only have one 4x10 bed allocated to spring bush beans and I'd hate to grow DT and get little or no bean harvest due to BMV.
