We'll soon have wall to wall carpeting installed in our basement rec room, and I want a generous "landing zone" by the sliding glass door (SLG) to the patio, using the luxury vinyl planks that look like tile.

Question is -- which one to choose?

See the two plank samples in the photos below. Both are from the Mannington Athena line.

The paneling is original, a natural oak veneer with painted grooves. The carpet will be new, a golden wool short loop. The framing around the SLG is a glossy white so I added some glossy white pipes to the two photos to help visualize things

(Since someone is bound to ask why didn't I do the picture by the actual SLG -- 1. the adjacent floor area is currently filled up with plants and, 2. a bookcase covers the nearby paneling.)
