That's an electric fireplace, right? I have one in my library and enjoy it. Is that the only corner in the room where you can use it? I ask because it seems a little too close to the doorways. If it must stay there, I'd accent the top with a simple piece of pottery that's large enough to make a statement and leave it at that.

What if you hung something from that bit above? Admittedly, sometimes I have an idea and I'm the only one who thinks it's good...

Something like a mobile or...something hanging, natural...Idk...just throwing it out there :)

I'd get a great, large painting and rest it on the mantel, across the corner.

Corner stoves are common in Scandinavian architecture. Since they are functioning (hot!) the stove itself is the decoration.
