I think you've got the right layout here. Little one is away from the window, there is child-friendly storage, and there is some room to play in the middle. I'd pull the dresser away from the window a bit so it is centered in the space between the end of the bed and the window wall and get a second curtain panel for symmetry.

That being said, is there a specific way you were hoping to have it function better?

It looks like if you turn the dresser it will overlap the window.

Is there a closet? Could you potentially put the dresser in a closet and put the storage shelf where the dresser is?

I don’t know I would have the bed at the window and the tall chest next to the bed and the cubby on the side wall.

For safety I prefer kids to have their beds farther away from windows, if possible. Lots of dangers around windows for little ones.

Stand at the window and get a picture showing the closet and door. Since you specifically want closet ideas post a good picture of that

If you could afford it I recommend wall beds. For small space living they are great!

heba29, I didn’t know the bed was of similar size as wall. What I was suggesting was to just move the bed up to window and not landscape it. Place the tall chest where the toy storage is and have that float on the side wall.

Not sure if closet allows, yet we invested in a good closet system with drawers. Kids have nice closet sleep than we do! Once that was in place, the dresser was gone, allowing for more floor space.

Not sure how old you little one is but this is always my idea of good space saving with kids,

The closet is fairly spacious and could be optimized for more storage. If the doors are a hindrance, could they removed (and stored elsewhere) ? Any way to add under bed storage? I'd want a bed with storage in a small room. Ikea has a lot of bed options similar to what Beverley posted. Not sure if this twin bed would be too high but I imagine a guardrail could be added.

thanks for posting the other pictures. it really does help. easier than you think with just a few tweaks. since you asked more about the closet, it looks like more adult clothes in it now than kids. if these are clothes you don't use often, move them to the side closet the wall so only one door needs to be open to get to your child clothes or find room for them somewhere else. I'd add a second clothes bar. a cheap easy to add and remove fix

or buy a complete starter closet system that any hardware or big box store sells you could then move what's currently there into your own closet adding a second layer for hanging

I would move the bin storage where you currently have the dresser with the bed as close to it as it can get. doing this hides the visual clutter from being the first thing you see when you come in the door but still is an easy place to keep toys and books. it also gives you a place to have a light by the bed. then move the dresser opposite the bed into the little corner indent... not directly next to the window. this leaves the small area under the window for playing that is a little hidden from the door. move the rug to center it more with the bed, closer to the door just so you can close it. it can be partially under the bed. or you could surround the window with storage cubbies to form a little window seat.

We stacked two captains bed under dresser to loft the bed a bit instead using a dresser. It was just two drawers high so it wasn't too tall. We put wire cubbies in the closet under the hanging clothes for all the toys.
You could put the dresser on the opposite wall and the cubbies behind the bed so you wouldn't see the toys from the door.
Do you need a trundle for two kids sharing the room? If not, some bed risers could boost the bed for bigger under the bed bins for toys and shoes.
