Best option would be to run the hardwood into the entry. Wood holds up well, and if its real wood it can also be refinished if there are issues. Mats can take care of water or snow too.

Second best option would be a tile (NO WOOD LOOK) in a lighter color that compliments the wood.

Matching abutting wood and wood-look components can be a challenge. It is not impossible, but more often than not, the subtle differences between the innate properties of each material can really stand out and look more like a design miss. It is typically a more striking, thoughtful design to implement some contrast when transitioning between floor materials. Consider an entryway tile that pulls tones from your wood flooring but has an alternative shape and sheen to the wood.
