translucent decking material

we are building a small deck overshadowing downstairs bedrooms and one of my main worries is that those bedrooms are going to be really dark.

I have heard there is a decking material that is translucent and lets light through.

Anyone 1. know what i am talking about . and/or 2 have experience with it?
