Salvia penstemonoides has a marrroony pink color with a dark calyx but it blooms much later. The markings on the throat are something that I have never seen on any fsalvia in my garden. True the S. lyrata are much smaller and I might not be able to see them there, They remind me of Penstemon triflorus,...the color too., but I imagine cross breeding accross species lines is highly frowned upon in the flower world. The S.lyrata , as they grow in my dry shade perform in regards to how much rain they have gotten in my unirrigated garden. It has been a dryish year. They are just starting to bloom. Many years they don't put on a flower with petals and go from calyx to seed. They are highly variable and bloom in white, light blue and blueish lavender, never a dark color. The inflorescen is normally unbranched and the flowers are more compact on the stem. TheSalvia roemerian has branched inflorescens . the flowers are looser and larger with longer throats.

Salvia roemeriana is native to this site . It is not a developed garden plant. and the land is a rough terrain.

You should name it after yourself or your studio. If you collect seeds and it is a cross between the two I think it would be interesting to see if what comes up.

The foliage in the first picture looks like lyre leaf sage. Could that be it? If so you will have lots of them next year.
