Induction range from Costco.

Can anyone tell me if they prefer front control free range Induction or do you prefer the control panel in the back? I have an induction with controls in the back that I have to replace this month, and I like the new look of front controls, but not sure if the new look is a pain to clean in the front. I am looking at the Lg 4616 from Costco. Thank you!

When I had my kitchen done in Virginia in 2009 I bought the Electrolux electric range that had the glass top ( they did not yet have inductions over ranges). I got the range with the control panel in front. I am redoing my kitchen now in Wi and am getting the Electrolux with induction and will again choose the front panel controls Because...it is safer not to have to reach across the pans with hot contents even if the stovetop is not hot. I’m choosing that because I am aging...I would also choose it with kids. The control panels easily lock and unlock in case of young kids or dementia. Plus it takes a little focus to start them whereas a toddler can turn a knob. I will chose Electrolux again because 1. It is a 2 oven range with the large oven on top...who wants to sit on the floor to get a turkey out of your big oven. The bottom small oven can be used for cooking, a warming drawer or bread proofer or even Pan storage until Thanksgiving. 2 the racks are hooked into the frames (but still easy to take out) so you can leave the Turkey on the rack roll it our to baste and roll it back in without having to lift it out each time. And 3. It has a perfect turkey button that cooks the turkey to the perfect temp beeps then takes it down to a holding temp to wait until you are ready for it. Great if you are in dc and go to the Smithsonian while dinner cooks. Also great if the crowd and the drinks distract you for awhile. I’m really not turkey obsessed but it is definitely a time when you need all the help you can get. Btw there is also a Shabbat control that allows the oven to be controlled at a very low temp overnight or through the day. It is basically like an oven crockpot.

Thank you so much for your response! I will choose the front control Lg 4616 from Costco. I love electrolux a lot but Costco does not offer it, and not in my budget. I hope I will be lucky with the Lg. I am not one for change so this is a big switch for me trying out the front control.

I think it is a sleeker look and gives a unified look to the backsplash without the interruption of a raised panel.

I had a front control, and chose a rear control. We had a lot of trouble with our previous range with the controls in the front. I also have young children, and it doesn't matter if there is a lock or not, they figure out how to unlock it.

Hi, can you please let me know what kind of problems you had? Thanks! Also, I am looking I ordered the Lg front control 4616st from Costco. I did double check and it just slides right in like a free standing range. The sides are closed. I did have a Kenmore with a back that I loved but after close to 10 years it died. Thanks!

Would love to hear any feedback on this range (LG from Costco).

We purchased this last month from Costco and am beyond happy with it. It has quite a few bells and whistles for the price. The build quality appears solid. I appreciate that the oven vents in the back, the door does not heat up. The oven bakes evenly. I purposely chose a range with knobs over touch controls. I actually prefer the induction over gas. It is just as responsive, cleaner and doesn't heat up the kitchen. My only wish is that it overlapped my counters instead of sitting flush against them.

Lindy -- just to be clear, you are referring to the LG range?

Using a Costco Visa gets you 4 years of warranty.
