Japanese maple seedlings - many different types, all from one tree....

We have many Japanese maple seedlings that pop up all over the yard - from seeds dropped by our mature Japanese maple tree - I’m guessing it’s about 40 years old.

What surprises me is the variety of different types of Japanese maple seedlings - in leaf shape and color. I believe the mature tree (here when we moved in) - is a bloodgood and know that only rooted cuttings from it would reproduce the same type of tree.

Just curious to hear how many varieties one tree can produce in seedling types. I’d love to see some of varieties you guys on this board have growing, that self seeded from a mature tree. I took a bunch of photos today of the different types we have growing and thought I’d share

The first photo is of leaves on the mature tree - all the other photos are of young seedlings that I’ve potted up, or ones that popped up in the driveway weeks ago.
