You can have color with farmhouse style. Use the blue in your tree art plaque for the accent wall (much nicer for summer.) Does the sectional come apart? Consider switching to a sisal rug for summer too. Your end tables are OK, but I don't care for any of the other shelving or the wicker piece, which looks like it belongs on a porch or in a sunroom. Less is more, so consider a barer look for warm weather.

You can find wool sisal; a good bet for year round use. You might like something from ruggable.com - washable too. Would you like to spray paint the table or let it go? How about putting the white ladder shelf there and let's restyle it. I see you have fish and birds, as well as the trees. I think I'd stick to just the trees for now. You could change to white lampshades for warm seasons and tan for cool.

Ruggable it is then!!! Scroll art seems off the shelf at the big box decor store. You may like it, but I don't. Are there any second hand stores in your area? More likely to find something authentically farmhouse there. The scroll piece is not.

What is that thing to the left of the fireplace? I'd like to see a straight shot of the fireplace wall. It seems like the whole room could be better arranged with the TV at a better height to the right of the fireplace, art over the mantel, and perhaps a big plant in the corner to the left.

That's a media shelf, grover, and she specified the TV is staying where it is, so I've been working around that.

I wouldn't call your current style farmhouse but more transitional and classic (and very tasteful). Are you wanting to transition your living room into framhouse style?? If so, I wouldn't do a black console since that is too heavy visually for that style.

OK, I understand husbands want TVs front and center, so I put it back over the fireplace. Put the media stuff in a cabinet to the right of the fireplace, art above. This isn't the right artwork for this room, but you can get the idea.

Sue, I'm sure we can find you a cabinet or console with farmhouse style that your remote will work with. Give me a minute or two.

I find this gallery a little kitschy--we can probably do better--but a media cabinet with glass doors or some open shelving is what you need.

The media cabinet picture was for style. I actually like the darker wood cabinet better against that red wall. I would, however, do one about that long to balance the window on the other side, and to give you plenty of space above for some kind of gallery.

I'm not a fan of any metal "art" really. I much prefer actual pictures or one-of-a-kind objects, antiques, something with a little more interest. You could do an inexpensive gallery wall with Ikea frames and art of your own choosing.
