I have the same thing..I'm going to wait..I'm pretty sure mine were stepped on..one of them was my fault :-(

There is no harm in waiting, so I always wait. Sometimes the damaged ones are covered by a good one and you keep an energy factory going.

let them dry .... and figure it out themselves ... why transfer all that goo around ...

besides.. for many of us.. its still not the best time to be tromping around in fluffy spring soil ... if you can avoid it .... right nichols ...

"not the best time to be tromping.." absolutely right ken!!..now I have some footprints and damaged shoots even though I knew better..I thought..."it'll be fine..I'm careful and I KNOW where my plants are"...it's hard to be obedient in the spring..

My new dog ate the pips as they were first coming up. I put all the pots out of his reach, but the early ones looked pretty bad. I left them. My hosta have been fully leafed out for 3 or 4 weeks and the "abbreviated" ends of the leaves are hidden under the newer growth. If you look for it, you can see it, but only a hostaphile would notice it.

bkay, "only a hostaphile would notice it". I like that, I don't know how many times I've had visitors that complimented certain hostas and I'm thinking but look at the slug holes or rabbit munching. They never notice.
