That sounds like my kind of luck! I don't see why it wouldn't be fine. Unless you just "shocked" the pool, it shouldn't have much more chlorine than city water. I would certainly try. You might loose some leaves to stress. Good luck.

You're doing all you can and I can't think of anything else you can do.

Trees grown in pots are removed, bare rooted, root pruned and put back in a pot with new soil all the time, so that part is okay. I don't know how much chlorine the tree would've taken in during the submerged time of 15 min but you'll just have to wait and see if it can shrug it off.

I just checked back to see the responses. The cleaning is weekly on Tuesday so I don't know if it had to be shocked. Thanks tigereye. And I was thinking the same as you stated Bill' The soil that I will have to throw together will be better than what it is in now. Thanks for the help , I will see how it turns out.

This is Sunday, so even if they shocked on Tuesday, that is usually gone in 24 hours. Chlorine breaks down rapidly.

Thanks tigereye. I washed the foliage down and rinsed most of the soil from the root ball and trimmed the roots down so that it all could make contact with the new mix, then watered the mix. Right now it looks good, just hope that it is happy and thrives. Thank goodness I bought a pot last year in anticipation of putting it in a lighter pot to make it easier to move in and out for winter and spring. Thanks again for your responses.

Oh wow, I hope your tree recovers! I'm imagining how hard it must have been to fish it out of the pool! Hopefully it didn't fall into the deep end!

'Lisbon' is an incredibly tough lemon (as lemon trees go). The dunking may have done no more than kill off a few insects and some soil pathogens for you.

One that inflates.

Like going swimming with cement overshoes. :-)
