Im thinking of trying out bonsai with any 3 of the following

juniper

buxus

pomengrenate

stone pine

prunus(whatever i can find)

cotoneaster

cyprus(though hesitant about the flat variety)...

Or if you suggest and idea on your own, as long as its pretty common, can be grown outside(hardy to 5b minimum{and pomengrenate does grow here outside in pots, but i wouldnt risk it with unfamiliar plants})/

Any quirks and pros/cons on why or why not i should try any of the mentioned? How well do they behave, how easy are they to shape and maintain...

Assume im a novice, but know enough theory about soil, shaping and general care...
