It seems like a lot of wasted space in the vanity area - if the room is 7 ft across that means 5 ft of just open space. If you want to leave the door at the end, then I would consider doing the vanity on the outside wall with a window in between the 2 sinks. Leave the toilet on that inside wall but adding 18" deep cabinetry there for additional storage ( or a nice piece of furniture ) . I would also flip the tub to the window. Probably not a clawfoot tub - remember you have to be able to easily clean around whatever tub you put into a wetroom...

Thanks for your response! We have given a lot of thought to the tub. We have a tub now that’s acrylic and has been especially easy to keep clean. I will continue to consider the extra tile and floor space to access and keep clean.

I like the idea of the window in between the vanities, as we do want a window(s) in there. We live in MO and normally they like to avoid plumbing on exterior walls if possible.

Also, there is room to access the bathroom from the private hall, but didn’t know if that would feel less private or awkward? What are your thoughts on that?

I like the idea of the door in the hall... that way when you are in other areas of the house you don't have to walk all the way around - plus it hides the light in the middle of the night if you need to get up. The plumbing can come up through the floor so it doesn't have to be on the outside wall or you can build a wall in a wall - that creates a nice ledge down the run of the room - an interesting architectural feature
