The plant has been considered a form of M. leuconeura. It has always been called Maranta leuconeura kerchoveana.

yes, i noticed that M. leuconeura var. kerchoveana looks just like M. depressa. I am trying to find some info about that.

unfortunately most of taxonomy sites do not have pics. If you google M. l..kerchoveana - you'll see for yourself that it looks identical to M.depressa. granted a lot of pics are not correct, but still obviously there is some sort of confusion on the subject.

That's interesting! I Google depressa, and they do in fact look identical in search results. I'm wondering if this is one of those plants that have different names for the same plant.
I got it at home depot a week ago, seems to be an established plant, and even has a dried flower stalk on it... The older leaves look like the markings are a bit more faded than the newer leaves, but I'm not sure if that was just light exposure... I just think it's really cool that it's similar to a normal prayer plant just without the lines.

this looks like M. leuconeura 'Marisela'. although usually it has more contrasting veining.

'Silver Band' is different: the lighter middle section is wide.

Maranta is one of my favorite, traditional, old-fashioned houseplants.
