I've seen Yolanda Aragon in zone 5 looking beautiful. Maggie made it from me through -7 temps this winter. She had some cane left so I imagine in a colder Zone she would be killed back more but would come back from The Roots. She seems to be very vigorous thus far this spring.

I can't comment about cold hardiness but Souvenir de la Malmaison has to be my favorite since it flowers most of the year and is also the only Bourbon I have, except for a very small Maggie that is taking its time about growing.

I had Mystic Beauty, but want to try SdlM. Also really like Mme Ernest Calvat so far. Fragrance is so strong.

I pick Baronne Prevost as my favorite Hybrid Perpetual.

I’ll have to think about my favorite Bourbon. I have several, and love them all! The fragrance of a Bourbon rose is outstanding. Lisa

The gophers and voles only left me with Mrs. John Laing, Black Prince, Marchesa Boccella and Magna Charta. Of these, Mrs. Laing is my pick. Magna's blooms are similar to Mrs. Laing, but the bush is much thornier and not as well shaped. Marchesa doesn't have good cutting stems, but her fragrance is wonderful. Black Prince would be happier in a warmer zone. I had about a dozen more, but the roots were eaten right out from under them. Paul Neyron was a winner. Enfant de France didn't thrive. I would love to have Arrillaga again. She did very well. The bourbon, Mme. Isaac Pereire does great here. Souvenir de la Malmaison lives, but doesn't bloom.

It’s tough to name just one- Maggie, Souvenir de malmaison, Benny Lopez, pulich children, souv. De St Anne’s. The bourbons flower more often for me in TX than the hybrid perpetuals.

SDLM and her sports are the easy ones in my climate. Romaggi Plot Bourbon is one of my very favorites. Mme Isaac Periere finally bloomed this spring after several years in the ground. Magnificent fragrance and beautiful blooms. The only Hybrid Perpetual I have is Baronne Prevost which is wonderful but only blooms in the spring for me.

This annoying website will not let me post a picture of Romaggi Plot Bourbon. What is the matter with it?!?!? Just really frustrating. Obviously Houzz does not want to put any money into whatever is wrong with this to allow more pictures to be posted. I guess rose lovers do not spend enough money on all the junk they are trying to sell. Good for rose lovers!!

It's a tough call between Souv de la Malmaison and Comte de Chambord. But when push comes to shove, I'll take Comte de Chambord. VERY winter hardy. No die back at all and once it gets some strength under it, she makes a great bush.

Using my laptop I can post ten pictures. Are all of you who have problems using your phones? Houzz does not fall all over itself trying to accommodate all users, that much is certain. I suspect people like me who use a camera and then load pictures onto a laptop are probably in the minority and yet that is the mode that works every time. Go figure.

I had Mme. Dore (below) years ago and it had pretty flowers but it never prospered and stayed very small for years, and the blooms didn't stand up well to the heat.

I use my laptop to post pictures taken from my phone and transferred to my computer. I tried again and it won't let me post the picture of Romaggi Plot Bourbon. I can usually only post one picture per post. But now I can't post this picture. Maybe the picture is too large, or whatever. Seems like it shouldn't be so hard to do this. I give up!

I have been having a heck of a time getting my post to even stay. It disappears unless I click the word on my spell check (phone)

grandmothers hat is my favourite at the moment. I added more perpetuals this year and have will have to see how they do. as far as bourbons mistress bosanquet, rommagi plot seem to have a quick repeat. I moved rommagi plot In February and it has been struggling since then. It still puts out a lot of growth but it has been getting a lot of dieback..

Thanks for the compliment, Lynn. You have so many beauties! Your SDLMR looks great. Mine was beautiful when I had her potted, but she isn’t looking as nice now that she’s in the ground. Maybe she needs more time to settle in. I’m sure the extra rain helped my Baronne Prevost tremendously. Lisa

I have a few that kinda fit into this grouping,

SDLM: love the luscious blooms, fragrance is not strong

Baronne Prevost: nice old rose fragrance and full rich colored blooms.

Marchesa Boccella: just planted, no blooms yet.

Comte de Chambord: the cheater blooms were incredibly fragrant, possibly the most fragrant.

Mme Ernest Calvat: luscious full beautiful blooms, strong fragrance , not sure of well it repeats. Done with the spring blooms, waiting to see if she puts more buds out.

‘New Orleans cemetary’ bourbon blooms all growing season, right through the heat of summer. I like it’s fragrance.
