We're buying a small farmhouse and I want to completely redo the kitchen. We don't have the keys yet (next week) so I only have the pictures for now. But I'm trying to decide on colors, etc. I need help in several areas!!

1. It is an actual farmhouse, so should I keep the slate floors and natural wood? I really don't want to but could live with it I guess. Pic included.

2. I would love to do a mix of traditional farmhouse style with a slight touch of modern.

3. I wanted to paint the cabinets white or light grey but I'm afraid that slate tile is just going to clash regardless. I really dislike the copper tones in it! So white cabinets/black countertop or light grey cabinets/black counterop? Or other suggestions?

4. The previous owner just had the countertops installed. They are black granite and brand new. So I don't want to do anything to them or change them. I actually like them.

5. My other thought is to redo everything but the countertops. So paint the cabinets, paint the trim, stain or paint the slate floors (I just read that you can do this) and remodel the whole thing.

6. The kitchen is fairly small and there is a dining room right off of it that I am remodeling as well and will need to tie in the colors etc that I pick for the kitchen. Pic included.

7. White walls and any ideas for backsplash?

Note: The furniture and decor in the pictures are not mine. Those are the previous owners and will not be there when I move in.

Any help, suggestions, ideas are greatly appreciated! I've been pinteresting for days and I just can't make up my mind!!
