IMO, yes :-) You can find other, well-behaved spring bloomers with similar coloring that are far less problematic - chionodoxa, hyacinths, Anemone blanda or nemerosa, iris reticuata..........

It will naturalize if happy but not so much as to be a pest :-) And the foliage dies back very quickly after blooming, unlike scilla foliage, which can hang around for months or so it seems.

I planted dark blue scilla at the end of the privet arch in front of an urn probably five years ago(?) So far it hasn't really spread but the patch has gotten thicker if that makes sense. I don't care for the bloom or the foliage of it as much as chionodoxa.

Yes, you will regret having planted scilla because then you will have to forever remember to call it squill. And then after a while of calling it whatever you call it, you will have try to remember whether you are calling it "correctly"; or not!
