Missing the photo..........

Elegans is as safe a guess as any :-) It is common and popular. But there are other large growing blue leafed hostas. Is a specific ID required?

if you insist on a name.. dig it up.. throw it away.. and go buy a named plant ...easy peasy ....

too many of the blues... all look the same ....unless there is some defining trait other than the blue... like the cupping of drinking gourd.. etc ....

that said.... what i had as elegans ... [which was probably seed grown .. which is another story.. i will repeat.. if you ask] .. took almost ten years.. to mature and look like elegans ....and if your takes less than 10 years to mature.. then i would say.. it isnt elegans ...

look at the pix inn the library ... as i look at them.. the leaves are round ... yours arent ... yours look too pointed compared to width .... soo my gut suggests its not elegans ... but i have indegestion so who knows what that might be all about.. lol ...

one key trait ... at maturity.. is that flowers are at or just below the top leaves .... lets come back to this around may 25th .. if i recall properly ... if the date is too far off that date then there is some other genetics in there [of course that is the date in my MI ...no clue about your zone 8 ]...

The cat is Cookie and she is off hunting bunnies. Poor bunnies. She’s very good at her job.

The hosta came from our old house (ripped a chunk off) so is at least 16 years old.

And Steelers fans are everywhere....we are legion.
