paint color help

I painted my powder room sea salt, but I’m not too happy with it. The sink and toilet are a brown swirl type pattern from the 80,s I think. Good condition and have to stay for now. What can I do to make it more up to date?

Thank you Judy for replying. That is pretty. Is it too busy for a small powder room? Should I paint the cabinet or leave as is. Also what type of lighting and mirror?

I love that paper and I think it looks great with your toilet. I don't think its too busy, but that is a matter of taste. You have to know your taste.

I love wallpaper in a small space. Something large scale and neutral like this will let you toilet and counter blend right in.

To draw your eye away from the elements you don't like do an interesting mirror

a soft gold would compliment the colors in the counter and be a nice update

I would paint the cabinet a warm creamy white or a taupe to match the print in the wallpaper and I would add some hardware

Also I would relocate your towel holders and place one only above your counter on the right. I would also think abut axing the floating shelves and just do one single framed piece of art there to make the entire space less cluttered and more elegant.

Could I put wallpaper on just one wall? If so, which one wld look best?

I would do all walls or else you're taking an already small space and chopping it up. If you wanted to only do one surface I would do the ceiling in a geometric pattern and paint all the walls one color. That said I think wallpapering the walls is your best bet for drawing the eye away from your marbles toilet. It will give you the most visual impact.

A new toilet will run about $120.00 and would go a long way in updating the look of the room.

Changing out the toilet for a new one is not difficult. You could get away with a handyman vs plumber if you don't know anyone who can change out a toilet.

I would paint the cabinet and re-paint the walls. You came close, but the paint is a bit too blue making the counter look more yellow. Get something that is more of a green gray and the yellow will seem less yellow. Then paint the cabinet about 4 shades darker on the same color swatch.

Trying to hold off on the toilet cause I want to change the counter at the same time. Even if I did replace counter and toilet to either white or gray, I almost feel like it still would need wallpaper.

If I stick with paint, what can I do to dress it up a bit?
