Dated kitchen before and after

last modified: 7 years ago

We completely gutted this kitchen, working from bare walls to realize the homeowners’ vision for the new kitchen design. We installed gorgeous new hardwood flooring, cherry cabinets, new countertops and backsplash tile, and new appliances. We also added an island to the center of the room for additional counter and gathering space.

We reframed the connection between the kitchen and living room, too, and extended the same amazing flooring into that space as well.

We absolutely love the new space!

Which one is the "after"? Clash or the woodgrains.

The wood cabinets clash with the wood floor.

I really like the cabinets and the new flow will definitely make your clients happy. While I am not a fan of the combination of woods, I think the end result will most certainly work well for a family. I love the countertops! Well done! People have different taste and desires. I enjoy seeing before and afters, even if not to my taste. It's like peeking into an open house : ).

MrsPete, it's the ability to cross-post, so a company advertising their before-and-after (without a whole lot of other information behind the decision) is now also putting it in Kitchens, where the lack of information is, well, sorely lacking and not at all helpful to anyone working on a kitchen in any capacity, whether a make-over or just a new set of salt-and-pepper shakers.

The layout is very nice. The cabinet wood and floor are unfortunately to too close and not close enough. Does not work. One should have been darker (or lighter) than the other.
