Ceramic cooktop cleaning or repair

My ceramic cooktop has fuzzy glass on main stoves. I tried cleaning it using different methods but non worked. I am ready to put my house on market and was wondering if there is any way to fix this. I don't want to change the cooktop because it works well.

Is there any coating or paint that can be applied on glasstop to hide this?

Find a cheap stove either at Home Depot or even better on Craigslist. For less than $500, you can find something that will look better than what you have right now, and it'll help sell your house.

For what it is worth, if your stove otherwise works fine, go right ahead and sell the disfigured stove on Craigslist. People who look for an inexpensive appliance won't be put off by cosmetic damage. Just make sure you word your Craigslist ad so that they know what they'll get, and be prepared to be haggled down. Everybody feels better if they can haggle a little.

But potential home buyers absolutely look at how well-maintained your house looks overall. And obvious cosmetic damage is a bit of a red flag. They'll wonder what other deferred maintenance they'll have to expect.

Are the white marks cooked on food spills? Have you tried the cleaner made for ceramic tops (Cerama Bryte)?

I don't think these marks are from burnt food. Its probably the glass damage or permanent haze from using aluminum pans. I think probably best would be to find a replacement under $500.

No, but a stone restoration professional may be able to polish it back, although he would probably not be cost effective.

I ruined my glass top stove by using an aluminum canner on the burner(s). It required such high heat for an extended period...I would guess your damage is from something similar. I no longer use aluminum (the canner is the only aluminum pan I own) on the replacement stove and am obsessive about not using burners that have any spills on them. I clean it every time I cook anything because there almost always seems to be some kind of spills or boil over.

I did find a repair person who replaced my newest stove's glass top when I dropped my salt mill on it and cracked it. It cost about 1/3 as much as a new stove would cost, so if the rest is in good shape, I'd see about just replacing the top.

That does not appear as if it can be removed. I would just replace it and be done. As someone else suggested put it up for sale on Craigslist for a couple hundred and call it a day. I just purchased a new stove from Lowes about a month ago for a rental unit. My cost was $540.00 with tax.
