I had a motivation problem and it proved to be in the linkage. There was a bunch of trash and dirt around the plunger that goes into the transmission that was not allowing proper motion of the plunger which moves the internal mechanism. Some people say that the forward bevel gear in the transmission may be worn or broke and if you switch the forward bevel with the reverse one that it will help. Sounds like if you go that far, and there is wear or damage, just replace the part. Anyway, once I cleaned and greased the plunger, everything was fine.

Actually John i believe the transmission selector shaft was seized , on your tractor . I remember advising to clean and try some penetrating oil overnight to free up the linkage . I also remember you advising us of your witch,s brew homemade penetrating blend that a former machinist recommended to you !

I haven't given up yet. Just need time to pull the trans apart and see whats broken. When the pedel is in forward the trans has the norm whine but no movement
