What's the fabric of the rest of the dress. How long do you want it to be and do you have a serger (overlocker)?

I don't have a serger. The rest of the dress is a lightweight silk-like material....It might even be silk but it's got a peach-like feel to it.

I'm putting in diamond shaped godets if that helps...

This is an unimportant project for a fancy dress event for my daughter. So the whole thing is just for looks. I only sew a little...

There is a special pressure foot for the rolled hem. Most machines come with that foot as part of the package. Dig out your machine manual it should show you how to do it or go to you tube. I find you tube very helpful for information like this.
