What interior door hardware color?

I am replacing all of the hardware on our interior doors and having trouble deciding what color to go with. I like the idea of matte black best but am afraid it’s trendy and don’t want them to be dated in 10 years. My other thought is to go with brushed nickel. What would you do?

We used satin black. I questioned many choices, but this one was easy.

My hardware is all satin black and my house was built in 1966!
Go with what you like because whatever you pick will go out of style in short order. Whenever my hardware wasn’t in vogue I never cared because I just like the look.
I moved here in 1983 so I wasn’t the one who picked the black.

I don't think of black as a trendy choice.
