Agreed! It needs something- the leaves should be green! Nutrient deficiency for sure.

This cultivar has this leaf expression early in the season, and then produces normal green leaves in my experience. It will usually only have a few variegated, not this many. It’s full name is ‘Henry apples Dupree’, pretty sure it was a Jim little cultivar.

It may appear as a deficiency but it is not...I will post pics later in the season when it produces some green leaves.

I have had it for about 4 years. Put it in the ground out front on street because that's where we have so much theft. The scent is great but the flower is piddly in petal thickness and NOT , as we say, Lei quality.

Haha that’s funny you plan your curbside choices same as I do...anticipating limb theft or even whole tree popped out. I just had my last theft a few weeks ago, broken off two limbs when I was outside with my dogs :( people are crazy.

2 weeks before last Thanksgiving some idiot thief came up with a saw and cut down a 4 ft x 4 ft red one I had grown from a seed in 2005. Hurt so bad, you could see the drip marks on sidewalk till they got it in their car or truck. Took months for me to get over it. The red was unlike one I have ever seen and an amazing scent once picked. Since tree so heavy, as it fell it took out another with inflos, they took it too . Camera signs are up, but hoodies and sunglasses make it impossible.

I’m sorry rox, that’s one of the worst thefts I’ve heard. A 15yo seedling with unique flower makes it so much worse. What a horrible time to take a cutting too, selfish. I get super irritated for weeks following a small limb snap, I can’t even imagine...

Put L.E.T. on it and no sign of anything yet. Had 2 huge cobalt pot on either side of driveway with these in them, 2 very similar. One bloomed better than other. Now so ugly the one side.

That's very upsetting Rox. Sorry to hear that. I live next to a busy park with people constantly walking by. People almost daily ask about my plumeria if I am outside and they are walking past, so I imagine with such interest it's only a matter of time before someone takes a cutting.
