Daylilies Garden

Off to a grand start

Dr Regel, new to my collection last year, opened on May 8th and bloomed until may 21st. Today (May 22nd), Clementella bloomed (one flower). With an even dozen plants with scapes, it is almost certain that I will have daylilies in bloom continuously until sometime in September. :)

Your season is starting "extra early" this year. It sounds like you will have a long bloom season.

Well, I'm in zone 7b, northern Virginia just south of DC, and it is rather warm here. That would lend itself to a longer season than some (but not as long as some further south of me). I have to take some of the credit, though, for diligently seeking cultivars that bloom both early and late.

BTW, Clementella bloomed on May 22 both last year and this year.
