Although I absolutely love Danby and heavily considered it, I ended up with a quartzite because I didn't want to be the countertop police with my family. Several years back romy718 used it in her beautiful kitchen and offered up her experience. If you google her name, you can probably find pics of her kitchen.

There are several threads about this if you search for Danby. I would say that the overwhelmMing consensus is that if you really love marble and can accept its imperfections, you will be happy. Danby performs better than other marbles as far as staining. Also it’s better to get a honed finish so etches are less noticeable.

I had Mountain White and was very happy. Yes it etched, but that was part of its charm.

Cyc2001, I felt bad after finding a number of threads in topic after I posted but couldn’t delete my post. I think I just have to accept we won’t be a marble family. As my son teases me when something gets damaged “this is why we can’t have nice things!”
