Have you ever seen a Chaste Tree? Mine is blooming right now, blue-purple flowers and the leaves look a little like marijuana. Mine is only about 6 feet high and it's been planted for a few years now. It probably would get bigger if there weren't woods around it, it's not in full sun all day. It's covered with big butterflies when it's blooming. Sometimes Lowe's has it but I got mine at the County Master Gardener's sale. Chaste Tree I'm putting in a link so you can see and read about it. The only other one I can think of similar is the Oleander but man does it ever get those caterpillars on it, has to be watched like a hawk for them.

If you like yellow, how about one of the Cassia trees? Desert cassia is very pretty when it blooms and doesn't need a lot of space, but it does put out lots of seeds.

Yellow Elder is very pretty and can get pretty tall like some crepes. Gorgeous late

spring blossoms.

I have 2 dark leaf, dwarf crepe myrtles: Black Diamond and Midnight Magic. They stay even smaller in containers and are really beautiful. Someday I will put them in a japanese water garden area with japanese maples etc. They really add a pop of dramatic color.

Weeping Bottlebrushes are so gorgeous! I think they get up to 12-15 ft.

"Slim" bottlebrush is 8-10ft but only 4ft wide so good for tight spaces.

Little John' bottlebrush is only 3 ft tall and 5ft wide. These are pretty in raised beds. The hummers here probably wouldnt get on a low grower due to cats.
