I agree, black roof, and a bit of landscaping and a pretty color on your door, and leave the siding. Its maintenance free, except for a power wash, maybe once a year. Its a classic white already. Very nice looking house.

I agree. The shutters are even the right size and style-appropriate! New roof as planned, paint the door, and focus on the landscaping. Those hedges should be pruned or removed altogether.

Agree with everyone else. Very nice looking home. I would be afraid of painting vinyl, I bet there are lots of incidences of that failing, paint peeling. Maybe work on getting a small ornamental tree for your garden and divide each hosta too fill it in more. Or get more/diverse ones. One can't have too many hostas.

Maybe if you want a little more color a reddish brownish, blackish dimensional roof shingles to go with brick might look nice instead of basic black.....

The squared off hedges should be removed. They are too close to the house for one thing. If you can pull them out or dig them out by the roots, you may be able to put them elsewhere. Smaller nicer plants in that area, and something with a bit of color. That is a nice large flower bed you have there, but, there is barely anything in it. It could use several plants, and hopefully something with color, or flowers, rather than all the solid green.

Some variegated grass plants to couple with hostas and taller material such as Purple Fountain Grass. Then sprinkle in some green leaf begonias for color.

Keep roof true to the style of home. Dimensional tiles would not be a choice I would make. Keep it true to home. Black Certainteed 50 year shingle or comparable would be good investment and the warranty is transferrable.
