I am also a big fan of calidesign's idea to brighten the room with pictures from nature – thanks for that!

One idea might be to choose the Canadian forests for it. Especially in autumn they should be breathtaking. His proposal theoretically fits better to the current space atmosphere but our goal is to change it. And a more colourful forest could help. Just an idea. I am curious what you think about it.

I Googled Amelia Island art and found loads of interesting links, Kindness. There are a lot of art galleries in the area and art shows. Artrageous Art walk

Try searching for landscape photographers in the area. You might find something affordable for your space that will speak to you both.

In my opinion the rug looks very masculine and the design is hard-edged. I would look for a softer patterned rug that incorporates a bit of the greens that you want to use in the space. If you want to keep it neutral, you'd be better off getting a soft solid color rug than the geometric one.

Every room in our house is white so I agree we def can use some colour. I do like to Rug though and can make it work if we decide on it.

I would look at the photos of KULRN again up on top . Those are great suggestions in making your bedroom cozy . I prefer the black walls ...and everything else with grey/silver white accessories ...the color of your furniture really is depressing ..if you make it a summer project ..just paint it ...by yourself ....then look again ..get inspired by all the wonderful photos at HOUZZ and look at what makes you happy then go paint yourself a cozy bedroom and enjoy !

Love Kim H’s mock up! Would your husband mind a very, very soft blush paint on the walls? I think that would enhance the arrangement Kim suggested. And it would also complement the great rug your husband chose.

I like this picture for over the bed. What rug 8x10 rug would you pair with it (under 250).

The grey headboard is going and I can always paint the dresser (easy fix).

Love your picture. So pretty and serene! I think your furniture is fine and doesn’t need painting. I think it comes off as drab is because you don’t have any other color in your room to look at. Here’s another rug from Home Depot that gets great reviews. It’s similar to the rug your husband picked out but done in a lighter way. It would make a good foundation and would be easy to add different colors to it

I'm not sure which art piece you are asking about. Let me know and I'll dig up the source for it. Let me look around for some lamps. I'm thinking that you just need to keep adding textures to the space to make it feel great.

I love your art choice. Plenty of soothing colors to add to the room. The darker green throw works really well with it. You might try Tuesday Mornings or Home Goods to find those lamps at a discount price.

This feels so right to me ! The bed is lower.

If the bed is lower you may not need such tall lamps. I like that those don’t add color just texture. If you go over to Ikea check out their white curtains. I think plain white curtains over bamboo shades would add some nice texture in your room too.

kindness matters that is so exciting that you are getting the rug and some artwork! Is your husband going to be hardwiring in a ceiling light? How tall are your ceilings? Is there some styles that you are drawn to?
