What an abundance of beautiful blooms !! Hope you had a wonderful holiday

Re the flag - around here most people who have "historic" houses fly the flag all year, except when it is raining (we do). However, last year there was a group (I am NOT making this up!) who ran around yelling and writing letters (and sometimes vandalizing or stealing flags), etc., that anyone who flew the US flag, anytime, for any reason, was ipso facto proved to be a racist. Let's just say that the public reaction (in this very very dark blue area) was not in their favor. Haven't heard from them since, but the end result was that I would estimate I see at least 4 times more flags put out on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Veteran's Day, etc than was the case before.

That is horrible Jackie .. I can’t wait to get my flag up as soon as we move in ! How can people be so ridiculous ?!! I always think they must be people living in parents basements with no job or sense of pride . Such a shame .

The flag on our house is up high in my opinion, but maybe that’s where was easier to mount it

What are the pretty roses?

monarda_gw - the roses in the foreground on the left are 'de la Grifferaie' (the pale to dark pink one), and the red one is 'Cramoisi Superior'. In the background on the right is a tree rose of 'Peach Drift (peach), and Lauren (purple).
