Help ID Mystery plant

one of my boyfriends buddies just brought over a bunch of seedlings he started this spring for us. very kind of him! tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, peppers, sunflowers, cardinal vine, but couldn't remember whst one of the plants was! (actually theres 2 of this mystery plant!)

could be a flower, looks more like a vegetable to me... I have no clue.

any and all suggestions welcome! thanks in advance!
