Could you post some pictures of your space now and also the art. If you have hallway I love familt pics hung like a gallery in hall ways then if you have a lot of art other than that I choose to hang only some at a time in small spaces but a lot depends on the art. As for decluttering a move is always the best time to get rid of stuff. I would start by deciding the pieces you want to take for the nessessities like sleeping, eating and relaxing.Then take awy all the rest , add back the next level of need , like lamps, tables . Now see what you feel is absolutely nessessary to make the space feel like your home that usually is decor items . The easiest is to empty one room at a time and add back only what you really love The rest goes to good will the second hand furniture shop , really anywhere but with you. You will have to be brutal and either love it or leave it. The new space is not very big and also not really light filled so keep that in mind not too many pieces of dark over stuffed furniture.In a lot of cities there are pros that can help with this so maybe see if that is an option. For me I need to keep my husband out of this since he has a very hard time throwing anything out.

Will post them as soon as I can. I forgot to add we will be on the 5th floor. Wanted to be facing south east, but then could not get this floor plan which is the largest unit they have. When we moved to a small house a few years ago, we devoted the bottom half of one closet to storage of framed pictures. Occasionally we rotate art from the closet to the wall. For now that's the best we can do.

If you're willing to take artwork out of its frame it could store more compactly, but we didn't want to go that far.

A couple ideas:

1. put colored Post-its on the furniture and items. Each of you can use a different set of Post-its. Make one color "love it", other colors "okay and useful" and "don't need or want".

2. Watch Marie Kondo's Netflix series to see other people declutter their possessions.
