I just planted some hardy kiwis last year. I also am interested in learning to prune them. This is a picture of one of them taken a few days ago. I couldn't find much in the way of resources, so I started a Hardy Kiwi Growers facebook page. I also grow muscadines. Oh, the hardy kiwi is the plant in the back, not the banana plant.

I've done some more research since posting. if you're just starting out you can prune them the same as muscadines on a single wire with two cordons and spurs. there are a number of people I've spoken to that have had good success that way. it is probably not the best for a commercial venture but for the home garden it will apparently provide gallons of kiwi. Do you have a male planted nearby? I planted a pair (male and female) in the same hole the other day on a new trellis i started, we have some pollination issues that limit fruit set.

I have female Dunbarton Oaks, Ken's Red, and male Meador. I also have an Issai self fertile. I plan to graft some male shoots onto the female vines if and when I ever learn to make a graft take.
