It might just be sun stress. Depending on siting, this cultivar could develop some leaf scorch in a lot of sun or wth reflected heat.......many pale colored JM's do. As it morphs into its more greeny-gold midseason color, you should see less of this.

By good watering I mean a slow soak, I don't measure how much since it is from my hose but I would say about an inch? The soil always feels moist around the area. I read for the first month I should water it every 2-3 days, is that correct? After the first month any recommendations on how much water?

I always let the rain handle watering my JPs at my old house but they were well established.

I would water deeply at least once a week for the rest of this season, bumping up to maybe twice a week if hot and dry. Next year you may only need to water occasionally during extended dry periods.

Nah! It will get used to that exposure but may look a little stressed until it does. Just keep it properly watered.
