We moved into a turn-key build 4 years ago, where the builder used cloud white on all ceiling, trim and doors with grey walls. Last year we bit the bullet and repainted entire upstairs SW high reflective white, including all trim. We have a pure white kitchen and found the high reflective the best match for the kitchen. I’m very happy with the results and don't find the white too bright, downside was it took 3-4 coats to cover.

Here’s the dilemma: it’s now time to do our basement. It’s a walkout basement with a fair amount of natural light and cool tone laminate flooring. My options are:

1) save $$$ and paint just the walls white, leaving the trim cloud white (i was thinking cloud white so as to not clash with the trim but open to suggestions). Since there’s no pure white cabinetry or furniture down there it shouldn’t look yellow as it did upstairs next to our kitchen.

2) just have the entire basement painted a new white, including ceiling trim and doors. Either continuing the high reflective or a different white.
