Really without any idea of the door or your style how would we know.Does the HOA have rules about design or color of hardware it seems they control a lot .

Thank you both. It was late at night and I didn't want to walk downstairs to take a pix of the door. I'll take one and post it soon to give you guys an idea.

The HOA has a lot of say in everything (even if the color of the cable to our dish in the BACK does not match exactly with the color of the house), .but not the hardware on our door! :).

The current handles/lock are only a temporary fix so we can actually get in and out of the house. :)

If your previous lock was Kwickset brand, the new Kwickset locks have a feature called "Smart Key" which allows you to re-key the new lock to your existing key in a few seconds. Works great and allows you to keep the same key as other exterior doors.

If you don't like levers, no problem. Yes, they're easier to open /more user friendly ... but the front door hardware is actually seldom used. Why? Because you tend to open it for guests from the inside. Most guests, entering through the front door, don't open the handle for themselves.

I'm stealing this pix from a person just above me, but I have this same type of lock -- even the style is similar to mine:

Deadbolt over a handle. Only the deadbolt locks. It works great. I literally never think about it.

Changing the subject slightly, what I hate about my exterior door is that it's wooden (with three lovely leaded glass inserts above) ... and it swells with the weather. I have to "bump" the door with my hip to open it. My next door will be a nice fiberglass door like my first house.

As for color ... with a dark green door, I'd go with antique brass.

I like what you have now. Why is it only temporary? You usually can change the inside without changing the outside knob.

Frodadi - Yes, the old one was a Kwicket (Yale). I'm not a big fan of that brand (builder's grade), but would love that feature, thank you for the heads up.

Mrs. Pete - Yes, although your statement about the outside front entry door is accurate, our family is the exception in the fact that we use it ALL the time (I think it prob. died because of over use! ;) ).

I do think the antique brass will look amazing with the green, but I don't think it will look so great from the inside (against the white). Only way we can make this happen is if we buy two sets of the same handle/lock which means $$$$.

Diana - I really like the 'block' - rectangular - look from the inside, and I want something with more substance (style can be the same although would prefer the block look there as well) for the outside.

Any suggestions any of you have (with pix/brand/color), will be greatly appreciated.
