The last couple of days in central IN have been bEaUtIfUl!!! I've been cleaning out beds I have, widening some existing beds then I will gat started on clearing out another area in our backyard. I promised myself about 4 years ago that I would have our backyard nice enough so when DD graduated high school, we could have her party back there. That won't be happening, but I've enjoyed myself and gardening is a real stress reliever in my life. I'm focusing on that. :)

I went out and got a few new hosta yesterday. The neighbors across the street from us got new plants for their front yard and I started to divide some hosta of mine.

I did have a bad hosta mom moment when I was moving Great Expectations from one area to another. There had been a significant difference in the size of GE from last year to this year. I wondered what was happening and thought I'd dig it up to look underneath. I thought I had a good hold on it and it slipped....and I tore every dang stalk from its roots :( Needless to say I'm really glad none of my neighbors were outside with the exclamations I made right after this happened. I did throw the stalks on the driveway in my moment of self-loathing, then went over and picked them up to mourn my loss. Upon further examination, there were tiny little roots still attached to the bottom of each clump that had come off. I was shocked!! So, they are sitting in water in my kitchen for the time being. I'm going to try to grow the roots out and replant them.
